Welcome to a new year and to our first edition of Pathways Connections for 2026. To new students and families, I would like to add my warm welcome. As the Pathways Coordinator at Calvin, it is my privilege to support the career education of Calvin students and to walk beside them as they explore and make choices that will shape their future lives and careers. The purpose of Pathways Connections is to keep parents and students informed of the many opportunities, both at Calvin and further afield, for exploring careers. We will highlight work experience opportunities, scholarships, apprenticeships and traineeships, university applications, career planning and everything in between. It is my goal that every Calvin student will have the opportunity to explore the world of work and seek to find their own place within it, whatever that may be. To begin our year, I would like to introduce a wonderful resource for both parents and students; Study Work Grow is an Australian organisation dedicated to developing career education. Alongside the resources we use at Calvin, they produce an exhaustive database of events and articles that cover all pathways and career avenues. I will be highlighting this information here throughout the year, however I would strongly recommend students and parents visit their website regularly for the full range of helpful content. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or your child would like to meet and discuss any work, subject or career related issues. I am available during the school term on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8.00am and 4.00pm.
