Changes to O’Driscoll’s Bus Services

In consultation with Christian Schools Tasmania, there have been some changes made to the School bus from Rokeby to Calvin Christian School. These changes will commence on Monday 8th May. The normal route and times will apply until this date.

AM Route

The bus will now depart at 7:35am from bus stop 69 Rokeby Rd (outside Vinnies Rokeby/Silver Pearl)
The bus will no longer travel via Church St. Families using the stop at Church St are encouraged to use the stop at 69 Rokeby Rd
The bus will no longer travel via Woodcutters Rd, Tolman’s Hill

PM Route

The bus will no longer travel via Woodcutters Rd, Tolman’s Hill
The bus will no longer travel via Church St and the last stop will be at bus stop 69 Rokeby Rd outside Percy Park

Walking in the Light

After the tremendous success of last year’s festival, this year we've got some amazing new initiatives planned but we need your help to make these things a reality! Volunteers are required to assist with the following things:

Cooking and selling of oliebollen
Set up, selling and serving of hot dogs
Set up, selling and serving of warm spiced apple juice
Set up, selling and serving of cold drinks

The event will take place on Friday May 26 from 6.00pm. To volunteer please visit our Signup Zone. If you have any questions please contact the Community Engagement Committee.

PRIMARY NEWS

Christian Schools Tasmania Cross Country

On Tuesday 16 May, students in Years 3 to 6 will be participating in the Christian School Tasmania (CST) Cross Country at Channel Christian School. This is an exciting event where students from all of the CST schools come together to compete in the annual Cross Country event. Families are most welcome to attend this event which will commence at 10.20am on the Channel oval.

Students will be required to wear their sports uniform with their house colour t-shirt. They will also require their warm jackets, lunch and a water bottle. T-shirts may be purchased from the Primary Office, payment can be made via Qkr or Credit card (no cash is accepted).

All students will attend a practice session at Channel Christian School on Friday 12 May. They will need to wear sports uniform for this also.

Kinder to Year 2 Cross Country

Our Kinder to Year 2 students will be participating in their own Cross Country on Wednesday 17 May on the Secondary Campus oval. Students are asked to wear their sports uniform with their house t-shirt.

Families are welcome to attend.

Out of School Hours Care

Adventure Patch starts with out of school hours care at Calvin this afternoon. Registration for this service is online. Details on this service are available on their website, including the link to enrol.

SECONDARY NEWS

Parent and Teacher Interviews

There will be an opportunity for parents/carers to meet with teachers at the start of Term 2. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday 1 May and Tuesday 2 May and can be booked using this link. The event code (if required) is g8b6d.

Year 9 Camp

On the last week of Term One, our Year 9 students got out and about for a culminating part of the new Discover Program. With three different options of adventure, students made a choice based on their own level of personal challenge.

Enjoying the beautiful Mt.Field area they engaged in activities from mountain biking, kayaking, challenging bushwalks, gentle strolls, and perhaps their biggest challenge, their own cooking. It was a fantastic time of reflection, adventure, challenge, growth, and community.

Employment Opportunities

Applications are welcome for a Business Services Support Officer Christian Schools Tasmania for which is a part-time position for an average of 10 hours per week.
