Janet Vanderwal (née Hofman)

The Calvin Christian School community was saddened to learn recently of the passing of Mrs Janet Vanderwal. Janet was a Calvin alumna, having been one of our first students in the 1960s. As a daughter of the School’s founding Headmaster, Mr OJ Hofman, Janet had a long involvement with Calvin that stretched across decades. She knew Calvin as a student, parent, and grandparent, continuing to attend school events until quite recently in support of her grandchildren.

As a faithful member of our Association, Janet regularly made time to support and encourage the growth of Christian Education across the four CST schools. Janet was also known to generations of our infant students as Mrs Vanderwal, working as a teacher with our youngest children and continuing to assist as a relief teacher and volunteer up until a few years ago.

Our School community has been so richly blessed by the care and commitment of Janet over many years. Janet knew God and sought to make Him known. Working in her own humble and unassuming way, Janet has extended God’s love to generations of students and staff. We invite you to join us in praying for Janet’s husband and family as we celebrate her life and faithful commitment to serving and honouring God.

Year 10 Immunisations

The School Based Immunisation Program run by the Kingborough Council will be taking place on Tuesday 23 June for students in Year 10.

Please use the QR to complete the online form for your child’s immunisations. Please complete the form whether you are giving consent or not for the immunisations.

A reminder to Year 10 students, parents and carers that our Information and Feedback session for the Morrisby Profile Career Assessment will take place tomorrow June 18 in the Senior Campus Library at 6.30pm.

We will cover how to interpret different profile shapes and how the tool can be used to support career decision making. Students' profiles will be unlocked before this session, so please bring a laptop if you'd like to view them.

Primary SRC Lunch Orders

This term the Primary Student Representative Council (SRC) will be holding a Fundraiser to raise money for our Calvin Sponsor kids Suany, Benta and Yabsira.

You are invited to purchase Sushi Rolls for $5 each for your Prep to Year 6 child to enjoy for lunch.

There are three varieties available for purchase from the Qkr app:

Cooked Tuna (GF)
Teriyaki Chicken
Avocado (V, GF)

Sushi lunches will occur over 3 consecutive Thursdays. Your child will receive their order on their class’ designated Thursday.

Prep to Year 2 - Thursday 18 June (Orders closed)
Year 3 & 4 - Thursday 25 June (Orders close 19 June)
Year 5 & 6 - Thursday 2 July (Orders close 26 June)

Please ensure your child's name and class is correct in the Qkr app. No cash purchases will be accepted.
