Monday 13 April

Welcome to our final edition of Pathways Connections for this term.

For me, these final weeks have been a busy time of preparing for an exciting series of career learning activities that will take place early next term. Week 2 (11-15 May) is National Careers Week and we look forward to welcoming special guest Tyson Day from Arrive and Thrive to share his expertise and insights with students in Years 10-12. We also look forward with great anticipation to our second annual Life Library event, taking place in Week 3 (Thursday 21 May). Here in our Senior Library, members of our community will share their personal career stories with students, giving them a valuable window into the world of work.

In this edition we have articles about becoming an entrepreneur, pathways in tech and the screen industry as well as a job spotlight on becoming a geologist.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you or your child would like to meet and discuss any work, subject or career related issues. I am available during the school term on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8.00am and 4.00pm. To make an appointment please visit my booking calendar or contact me by email at awright@calvin.tas.edu.au. Students may make an appointment during school time as appropriate.

Save the date – Life Library 2026

This year we will again celebrate National Careers Week with an evening of career conversations in our Senior Library. During our inaugural Life Library event last year, guests from a wide range of industries and occupations shared their personal career stories and insights with students from Years 10-12 in small groups of three or four. If you would like to volunteer yourself or someone else to share their career journey, please contact me via email at awright@calvin.tas.edu.au.
