NAPLAN 2025Each year, students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the National Assessment Programme – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The results are used to measure individual students’ and student cohorts’ educational outcomes in literacy (reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The assessments will be conducted across two weeks this year from 12 to 24 March with opportunity for catch up of missed tests. The assessments will occur within class time and will be supervised by Calvin Christian School staff. The Parent and Carers Information sheet contains details of NAPLAN online. A simple English version is also available. Students in Years 7 and 9 will need to supply their own headphones for all tests. Student Withdrawals Parents may choose to withdraw their students from NAPLAN or, in certain circumstances, they may receive an exemption. If you wish to withdraw your child, please contact the School to advise us and complete the required document prior to 7 March. For Our Secondary StudentsMaths TutorialsFor students seeking additional support with their Mathematics questions, a tutorial group will be running in the Library on Tuesdays from 3.20pm-4.00pm with Mr de Puit. Catch-Up Clinic - Supporting your academic healthThis year we have introduced a new structure for secondary students to assist them with assessment submissions. It is called the “Catch-Up Clinic” and will run every day at lunch time. If a student misses a due date for an assignment or test, their class teacher will refer them to the Clinic where a Calvin staff member will assist them in completing their overdue assessment.
