As we head into the busy season of events and celebrations, planning for what lies beyond is a big part of our end of year process. In this week’s Pathways Connections you will find a School Leaver Toolkit; a guide for students and their families navigating the next steps after leaving school.

This Friday 28 November we have our Year 10 Careers Day in the Multi Purpose Hall. We will hear from a range of guest speakers who will lead our students through workshops in career preparation, career design and career values. Please note, this will be an out of uniform day for Year 10 only. Following this, Year 10 students will commence their work experience week on Monday 1 December. I will be available to support students with any concerns or needs they may have during their placement. For students who do not have a work experience placement, attendance at school is not required.

Cameron Baird VC MG Scholarship

Born in Burnie, Corporal Baird was awarded Australia’s 100th Victoria Cross for the most conspicuous acts of valour, devotion to duty and ultimate self-sacrifice during fighting in Afghanistan.

In honour of Corporal Baird, two scholarships of $2,500 each are available to students entering Year 11 or 12 at any Tasmanian school with the purpose of furthering their education.
