More than a school fair…
This Saturday, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Oliebollen Festival.
This is a community-wide event that brings our school’s values of community, respect and stewardship to life in an engaging and meaningful way. Mark it in your calendars and get ready for a day filled with food, music, fun and fellowship, all with a deeper purpose at heart.
The Oliebollen Festival is more than just a school fair, it’s a chance for our whole community to come together. As we prepare for the day, we are reminded that community is at the core of who we are. Whether you’re a student, parent, grandparent, staff member or local neighbour, your presence is what makes this event so special. We are one body with many parts, and the Oliebollen Festival is a beautiful opportunity to see that truth in action.
The lead-up to the festival and the day itself are also powerful teaching moments in respect. Students, teachers and families will be taking on roles as helpers, performers and on stalls, learning to serve others with care, responsibility and a positive attitude. Volunteers will be working side-by-side, modelling Christ-like respect through their words and actions. It’s an environment where everyone is valued and each contribution is appreciated.
“The Oliebollen Festival is more than just a school fair, it’s a chance for our whole community to come together.”
Another important aspect of the Oliebollen Festival is stewardship. We look to host the event in a way that honours God’s creation and wisely uses the resources entrusted to us. With ongoing support and knowledge from Mrs Bailey and the waste warriors, we’ll be encouraging waste-reducing practices, utilising sustainable products where practical and using the funds raised to support long-term initiatives that benefit both our school and the wider community. Stewardship is about more than just finances, it’s about using our time, talents and treasures in a way that reflects our faith.
As the day approaches, we invite you to get involved. There is still time to volunteer at a stall, donate goods or help with set-up. But most importantly, we invite you to come along and enjoy this event with your family and friends.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you at the Oliebollen Festival. Together, let’s make this day not only a fun and festive occasion, but also a living example of our school values: community, respect and stewardship.
